The Friendly App Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") operates the BotoxSearch mobile application for iPhone (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, The Friendly App Ltd is the data controller.

Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

Information facilitation service

BotoxSearch is a search facilitation tool designed to help users find botox clinics and providers. We do not provide medical advice, endorse specific clinics, or facilitate bookings. Our service exists solely to aggregate and present publicly available information to help users make informed decisions. All treatment decisions and clinic selections should be made in consultation with qualified medical professionals.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

We do not require you to create an account or provide an email address to use BotoxSearch. When you first open the App, we create an anonymous identifier so your data can be saved. We may collect:

Search queries: The treatment, price range and location you search for
Saved clinics: Information about clinics you choose to save as favourites
Search history: A record of your previous searches within the App
Treatment log: Treatments you choose to record, including the treatment name, clinic, dates, colour label and any notes you add

Please only record information in your treatment log that you are comfortable storing in the App.

1.2 Automatically collected information

When you use our App, we automatically collect certain information:

Device information: Device type, operating system, and device identifiers, including identifiers used by our advertising measurement partners (see section 7)
Usage data: App interactions, features used, and time spent in the App
Location data: Approximate location data (city/region level) only if you explicitly grant permission. This helps provide relevant local search results
Analytics data: App performance metrics, crash reports, and general usage statistics via Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics
Purchase data: Your subscription status and purchase history, received from Apple through our subscription provider RevenueCat

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain the App's search functionality
Display relevant clinic search results based on your queries
Store your search history, saved clinics and treatment log for your convenience
Manage your subscription and give you access to paid features
Improve and optimize the App's performance and user experience
Understand how users interact with our App through analytics
Measure how well our own advertising campaigns perform (see section 7)
Fix bugs and technical issues
Comply with legal obligations

We rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (providing the App and your subscription), our legitimate interests (improving the App, keeping it secure, and measuring our advertising), your consent where required (location access and App Tracking Transparency on iOS), and compliance with legal obligations.

3. AI-powered search

BotoxSearch uses artificial intelligence (Claude API by Anthropic) to provide intelligent search results. When you perform a search:

Your search query is sent to Claude API to generate relevant results
We do not share any personal identifying information with the AI service
Search results are stored temporarily to enable search history functionality
We do not use your searches to train AI models
No user data is permanently stored by third-party AI services

4. Data storage and retention

Your data is stored securely using Firebase, Google's mobile and web application development platform:

Search history, saved clinics and treatment log: Stored on your device and in Firebase, linked to your anonymous identifier
Temporary data: AI search results are cached temporarily and automatically deleted after a reasonable period

Because the App does not use accounts, your saved data is linked to your anonymous identifier on the device you use. If you delete and reinstall the App, or change device, your previous saved data may no longer be available.

5. Information sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: With trusted third-party services that help us operate the App, such as Firebase, Google Analytics, RevenueCat and Anthropic
Advertising measurement partners: With Meta and TikTok, only to measure the performance of our own advertising, as described in section 7
Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety
Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We never share your search queries, saved clinics or treatment log with advertising partners.

6. Third-party services

Our App uses the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google): Anonymous authentication, database, and analytics
Google Analytics: Usage analytics and app performance monitoring
Claude API (Anthropic): AI-powered search functionality
RevenueCat: Subscription management and purchase processing records
Meta (Facebook SDK and Conversions API): Measurement of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram
TikTok (TikTok SDK): Measurement of our advertising on TikTok
Apple App Store: In-app purchase processing

7. Advertising measurement

We advertise BotoxSearch on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. To understand whether these campaigns work, the App includes the Meta and TikTok software development kits, and our subscription provider RevenueCat sends subscription events to Meta.

The information shared for this purpose is limited to:

App events such as installs, app opens, and starting or renewing a subscription
Purchase details such as the subscription product, price and currency
Device information and identifiers needed to link these events to our ads, including your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking

Your choice on iPhone: the App asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", we do not access your advertising identifier. Limited, non-identifying event and purchase information may still be sent to Meta and TikTok to measure campaign performance in aggregate, as permitted by Apple's rules. You can change your choice at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.

We do not display third-party advertisements inside the App.

8. Payment information

We offer in-app subscriptions through the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card information. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and purchase history through RevenueCat.

9. Location data

BotoxSearch may request access to your location to provide relevant local search results. Location access is:

Completely optional: you can use the App without granting location access
Only collected when you explicitly grant permission
Used solely to show clinics near your current location
Not shared with advertising partners
Can be disabled at any time in your device settings

10. Children's privacy

BotoxSearch is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@botoxsearch.com.

11. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including:

Encryption of data in transit and at rest
Secure Firebase authentication and database rules
Regular security assessments and updates
Limited access to personal information by our team

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your data rights

Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Deletion: Request deletion of your data. You can also delete saved clinics and treatments in the App, or delete the App
Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
Objection: Object to processing of your personal data, including processing for advertising measurement
Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time, for example by turning off location or tracking permissions in your iPhone's Settings

13. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

Search history, saved clinics and treatment log: Retained until you delete them or request deletion
Analytics data: Retained in aggregate form for up to 26 months
Temporary AI search results: Automatically deleted after 30 days
Purchase records: Retained as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet accounting and tax obligations
Advertising measurement data: Retained by Meta and TikTok according to their own policies

14. International data transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States where our service providers (Google, Anthropic, RevenueCat, Meta) operate, and other countries where TikTok operates. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and in the App
Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
Sending an in-app notification for material changes

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

16. Marketing

We do not:

Send marketing or promotional emails
Display third-party advertisements in the App
Sell your personal information
Share your searches, saved clinics or treatment log with advertisers
